SUFFOCATION: More Tour Dates Announced
March 23, 2007Legendary New York death metallers SUFFOCATION have announced another month's worth of tour dates, expanding their already exhaustive "Suffocation World Tour". The band, who recently completed tours of Australia and New Zealand, will hit cities all across Europe beginning March 29.
SUFFOCATION will begin this EU portion of the tour in Eastern Europe in late March, including a performance at the Inferno Festival in Oslo, Norway. The band will then return in May to hit cities in Western Europe, including rare performances in Macedonia, Croatia, Slovenia, the Grand Canary Islands, and more.
SUFFOCATION recently appeared in a The History Channel's promo spot to advertise their show "The Dark Ages". The commercial, which features SUFFOCATION performing their original track "Bind, Torture, Kill", has been posted online at this location.
SUFFOCATION drummer Mike Smith commented on the commercial: "It was a great first-time experience working with the TV industry, [and] we hope it won't be our last. Our fans who have seen the promo commercial have stated how highly they regard and respect A&E and The History Channel for being the first to recognize SUFFOCATION and the underground metal genre known as death metal. The History Channel has definitely gained the support and attention of the underground community."
SUFFOCATION recently unveiled the group's first video, for the track "Abomination Reborn", from their self-titled album. The clip was shot in Brooklyn, NY with director Frankie Nasso (MUDVAYNE, HATEBREED, MISERY INDEX) and producers Dale Resteghini and Melissa Manousos of Raging Nations Films. Watch it online at YouTube.com.
"Suffocation" saw its North American release on September 19, 2006 via Relapse Records. An e-card previewing "Suffocation", featuring the tracks "Abomination Reborn" and "Blind Torture Kill", can be accessed at this location.
